Information
Doria Choi is an interdisciplinary artist rooted in photography, with an interest in all things design. Born and raised in New York City, but currently based in the Pacific Northwest.
Her love of photography began with architecture and the play of light/shadow in spaces. This led to taking a B&W film class and subsequently applying to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she completed her BFA in 2021. Following graduation Doria immediately jumped into a UI/UX design role at a start-up. She is currently creating art and actively looking to apply her passion for design in a professional setting.

Art Practice
Doria draws from family history and exploring familial relationships in her work. She is particularly interested in how geopolitical events came to shape the existence of her family as well as others. She enjoys using materials like hanji paper, sewing, and alternative processes like gum bichromate, in addition to digital photography. Doria wants to continue experimenting with book making and tactility in a world that is increasingly digital.
